Peter Gish, Chairman of the Board
An accomplished entrepreneur with an impressive track record of building renewable energy companies, Peter A. Gish brings over 20 years experience to his role as Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Gish has extensive experience in the acquisition, development, financing and operation of wind parks in North America, North Africa and Europe and has published several articles on wind power financing.
He has a Bachelors Degree in Religion (Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa) from Dartmouth College, Juris Doctor Degree (Cum Laude) from Boston College Law School, and a Masters Degree in Jurisprudence (Honors) from Oxford University.
Stefan Matan, Co-Founder, Chief Technical Officer
Stefan Matan is responsible for creating Apparent’s innovative MicroGrid technology.
As inventor and manager of development for Apparent’s core technology, Mr. Matan has filed several energy-related patents including: 1) A novel renewable power extraction technology that includes pioneering work with regulating harmonic distortion in alternating current; 2) A control regime to improve reactive power in solar systems; 3) A dynamic algorithmically based scheme to maximize the production of AC power at unity power factor; and 4) the use of impedance matching to identify the optimal phase angle for a system.
Mr. Matan studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Bulgaria.
Dan Tran, Vice President of Production
In charge of manufacturing operations, Dan Tran has over fifteen years of experience in management and manufacturing engineering focused on transitioning leading-edge technology products from new production introduction to stable, reproducible, volume manufacturing.
Mr. Tran has participated in successful startups and micro inverter companies such as EnPhase where he directed production introduction to manufacturing. He worked at Skipper Wireless and Motorola/Next Level communications up until it was acquired by Motorola.
Mr. Tran has a degree in Civil Engineering from University of South Florida.
Bill Westbrock, Vice President of Client Services
Responsible for customer and partner support activities, Bill Westbrock is instrumental in solutions marketing, management of early customer installations, and partner training in the sales and support of Apparent solutions.
Prior to joining Apparent, Mr. Westbrock contributed to early product management, measurement and verification, and testing and logistics around customer services for Xslent Energy Technologies. With over twenty years of experience in a number of energy related industries, he worked at Power Measurement and Square D that was acquired by Schneider Electric. Also he worked at Westinghouse Power Distribution and Control Group and Johnson Controls in Commercial HVAC sales and sales engineering roles.
Mr. Westbrock has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
